Description of the Search Options
Perfect: Finds words that contain the same sounds. examples: last->vast, first->versed
Half: Finds words that have similar but not identical sounds. Some consonants may be mismatched, but not to the same degree as with the "Approx" option. examples: peak->seat, some->done
Approx: Finds words that contain the same sounds, but require at least one mismatched consonant. It is essentially an enhanced version of assonance. examples: tack->fact, nest->nets
Consonance: Finds words that begin with the same consonants. examples: hopping->hippo, synergies->sinuses
1-Word: Return single-word results.
2-Word: Return two-word results.
Ranked: Sort results by how similar they sound to the search term. This works especially well with approximate rhymes.
Syllables: Sort results by number of syllables.
Random: Performs a searches on one or two random words. Mobile users may need to either scroll the buttons or rotate to landscape orientation.
